Junior Draft Rule Change

Currently if a player was drafted in our junior draft, then dropped, he can no longer be drafted in our AHL junior draft.

The proposal is to change that. Allow this player to be redrafted provided he hasn't played 10 NHL games.

OK, that is enough to change the rule. AHL players who have been drafted and dropped, and have played 10 or less NHL games can be redrafted in the junior draft.

Does that mean that any drops teams plan on making during the AHL draft (i.e. if they're picking their 21st player)... these should be announced by the roster freeze?

That means if I have 17 skaters on my farm, not including Toews-call ups, and 4 picks, I'd have to announce my player to drop beforehand. We kind of do this already, but I seem to recall people being able to drop while they are making their pick (or pass on their pick).

adjustments around this will be made, Daniel might have put the exact wording in the rules he has posted at FCP

I did add that to the rules page. Any player dropped from the farm during the junior draft is ineligble for FA draft or waiver pickups. The first opportunity to acquire that player is the first FABB requests, provided he is on an NHL roster and has played an NHL game.

This avoids some angle shoots where sloppy things happen. Someone drops a $3 farm player, then no one really notices, and he adds them for .25 later
