Bracket Challenge Season 1

From the whacky mind of yours truly, I introduce the BRACKET CHAMPIONSHIP
Next season, the 8 non playoff teams will face off, with the 4 winners entering the sweet 16 bracket.
The matchups will be determined based on previous season record.
The 12 playoff teams get a first round bye.
The sweet 16 matchups will also be based on record, but once the bracket of 16 is set, it plays out from there purely.
So what is the game?
Each round is a 12 game matchup. Team with the best total score over a 12 game span advances to the next round until the ULTIMATE BRACKET CHALLENGE CHAMPION is crowned.
Standings tie breaks, PLUS/MINUS
The top seed will get the lowest seeded team from the bye brackets, and so on.
